Fort Klock Opens for the 2025 Season – Sunday, May 18


Step back in time and experience history firsthand as Fort Klock Historic Restoration opens its doors for the 2025 season on Sunday, May 18, from 10 AM to 4 PM.

As we honor the spirit of Memorial Day, Fort Klock proudly reflects on this “day of heroism and heritage,” inviting visitors to explore the rich history of our nation's early days.

Nestled within a scenic 50-acre complex, Fort Klock offers a glimpse into 18th-century life with its historic homestead, a meticulously restored Colonial Dutch Barn, a working blacksmith shop, and an authentic 19th-century schoolhouse.


Opening Day Highlights:

  • Witness thrilling cannon firings and an authentic militia muster, bringing the Revolutionary War era to life.
  • Experience hands-on candle dipping, quill writing, and traditional beer brewing techniques.
  • Watch skilled artisans at work in the blacksmith shop, crafting essential farm tools from hot iron.
  • Step inside the schoolhouse to discover how children learned in the early 1800s.
  • Explore the heritage gardens, where our dedicated members have completed the necessary springtime chores to sustain an 18th-century farmstead.
  • Indulge in the aromas of colonial baking as food is prepared over an open hearth.
  • Visit the textile exhibit room, where the barn frame loom is being warped and prepared for the season’s weaving projects. Participate or watch as yarn is spun on a traditional spinning wheel.
  • Browse the Trade Room Gift Shop, offering a unique selection of handcrafted items, books, and gifts.


Guided tours will be available throughout the day, departing on the hour for a nominal fee of $5 per person.

Seasonal Hours:
Opening Day – July 4: Friday – Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM
July 5 – Labor Day: Thursday – Monday, 10 AM – 4 PM
After Labor Day – Columbus Day: Friday – Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM
